Service changes in Tauranga CBD

Service changes in Tauranga CBD

As part of the Tauranga City Council's efforts to revitalise Tauranga’s city centre, upgrades are underway. These include the introduction of wider footpaths and greener spaces, along with a new one-way traffic system. To accommodate these enhancements, we are updating our bus routes and stops to ensure continued efficiency and safety for our passengers.

Changes to Bus Services - Effective from Monday 29 April

Route 101 Whakatāne - Tauranga:

Service change in Tauranga CBD: Route 101 will no longer stop at Wharf Street, Stand D.

New service point in Tauranga CBD: Both directions of Route 101 will now use Durham Street, Stand A (around the corner) for boarding and disembarking.

Route 143a & 143b Whakatāne - Tauranga:

Service change in Tauranga CBD: Route 143a & 143b will no longer stop at Wharf Street, Stand D.

New service point in Tauranga CBD: Route 143a & 143b passengers disembarking in Tauranga city will now use Durham Street, Stand C (around the corner). Passengers boarding in Tauranga city for travel to Whakatāne will now use Durham Street, Stand A (around the corner)

These route adjustments are necessitated by the Tauranga City Council's implementation of a one-way traffic system in parts of Harington, Hamilton, Wharf, Spring, and Willow streets.
